Description:

Season: Flowers, May, Cropping August - which is relatively early

Pollination: Self Strerile, pollination group D - so partnered by e.g. our Winter Nelis

Rootstock:  Quince A

Notes:

Sensation is a sport (a natural variation) of the massively popular pear Williams Bon Chretien. It was discovered in Australia in 1940.

It enjoys the sunshine, the more the better.  (Like the rest of us!)

a sublime eating pear, with almost more juice than flesh

Pyrus communis 'Sensation'

The tree is naturally quite narrow and upright. The young leaves on the tree are tinged with red.

The large red  fruits are very juicy with a fine flavour to match the pretty colour.
